Performance: Demi Lovato on SNL

Tracy Morgan may have been a big draw for Saturday Night Live fans last night, but it was all about Demi Lovato taking the stage for the first time as the show’s musical guest to promote her new album, ‘Confident’.

Opening with a brassy rendition of ‘Cool For The Summer’, Demi defiantly launched into a clean performance of her current single and the record’s title track. Demi followed up her ‘Cool For The Summer/Confident’ medley with her heartbreaking ballad, ‘Stone Cold’ that highlighted her emotional delivery and vocal strengths as an artist.

When it comes to both performances, we really can’t spot anything wrong. Demi seemed very prepared for SNL and it shows when you look at both performances. Personally, we’d prefer a bit more vocal control when it comes to ‘Stone Cold’, but even then the performance still comes off raw and powerful with Demi just singing her heart out without a care.

Did Demi knock it out of the park on Saturday Night Live?
