Beyonce Announces The Formation World Tour

We knew something was coming post-SuperBowl after Beyonce surprise released her new single, ‘Formation‘ and its music video. Moments after she completed her second Super Bowl performance,  she announced plans for her new tour, the Formation World Tour.

Beyonce will kick off her first world tour since 2013 at the end of April in Miami, Florida. The strictly stadium tour with hit every major city in North America – from Atlanta, to New York, to L.A., to Toronto, to Chicago – before wrapping up on June 12th in Hersey, Pennsylvania. From there, Beyonce heads across the pond to England at the end of June where she’ll conquer the UK & Europe until the end of July.

According to a press release from Live Nation regarding Beyonce’s latest outing, the Formation World Tour will help benefit those currently in crisis in Flint, Michigan:

True to her life’s work of always giving back, fans will be given the opportunity to participate in Beyoncé’s #BeyGOOD initiative supporting local United Way programs and the continued work surrounding the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. United Way of Genesee County has been at the forefront of distributing thousands of filtration pitchers, faucet mount filters, replacement cartridges and truckloads of water to underserved populations to address immediate needs in Flint Michigan. They are also partnering with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to create a fund that will address long-term developmental, education, nutrition and health needs of the children affected by the Flint Water Crisis.

No word on if more new music is coming, if a new album is on the way, or if Beyonce is just touring for the hell of it again. There are rumors of Beyonce shooting multiple music videos again and sitting on an album. She was even allegedly rehearsing two new songs for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but again – nothing sold.

Pre-sale for the Formation World Tour begins on February 9th and general tickets go on sale February 16th. Will you see Beyonce this summer in a city near you?
