Britney Is About 80% Done With B9, Has A Vibe Similar To The Weeknd

It’s an exciting time to be a Britney fan. Piece Of Me just had a major overhaul, featuring a revitalized Britney who hasn’t killed a stage show like that in a while, and there are major rumors of a single that’s almost ready for release. If you thought that was more than enough to hold you over for a while, brace yourself for the next bit of information you’re about to get.

In a recent interview with The Las Vegas Sun, Larry Rudolph revealed that Britney’s new album is almost done and that it will 100% introduce a new sound that sounds similar to – gasp – The Weeknd.

It’s probably about 80% done, I’m thrilled with it – She said this is my favorite album that I’ve ever done. It’s different. It’s really sort of a turn. The last few albums have been pretty straight forward pop – this is different. This is almost like Britney meets The Weeknd. It’s got a really interesting vibe. It’s a lot of really cool stuff. I think people are going to absolutely love it and she sounds amazing on it. She has not sounded better in – I don’t know when. So, she’s really excited about it. She’s done a lot of writing on the album also. And I think it’s going to be really big.

Hold the phone. Has Britney actually gotten full control over the type of album that she’s about to make? The comparisons to The Weeknd are very interesting. ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ borderlines on urban-pop. There’s a lot of dark undertones. Are we about to get the long awaited ‘Blackout 2.0′?

The possibilities are endless. Remember, Britney has been working with Matthew Koma, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, Burns, DJ Mustard, and countless others have been working with Britney lately. It seems like Team Britney learned their missteps from ‘Pretty Girls’ and it’s full steam ahead for an “artsy-fartsy” album. It’s only a matter of time until the single drops…

Does this latest revelation make you more excited for new Britney?
