All Saints Return With Comeback Single ‘One Strike’
A little less than a month ago, All Saints finally confirmed the inevitable – they would be reforming for a brand new album during 2016. Well, the wait for new music didn’t last long. Today, the girls kick things off with the break-up song ‘One Strike’.
It may have a specific tone to it that doesn’t scream “comeback single”, but what the girls lack in the pizzazz on the production they come through with on their vocals and fantastic lyrical arrangement. In fact, it’s refreshing for an act not to bring out all the bells and whistles when they re-emerge.
Written by Shaznay Lewis and Pete Hutchings, ‘One Strike’ is said to be written from Nicole Appleton’s perspective after the highly public breakup of her marriage ti Liam Gallagher. See, we told you the girls nailed the vocals.
All in all, it’s not a bad return to form and it makes us eager to hear what else this group of ladies has been working on in secret.
‘One Strike’ is the first single off of All Saint’s new album ‘Red Flag’, due out April 8th. Watch the band’s music video for the single below.
