Selena Gomez To Record Her New Album During The Revival World Tour
About a month ago, Selena Gomez revealed that she was wasting no time in getting fans a follow up to her mega-successful sophomore album, ‘Revival’. Since its release, Selena has become a force within the world of pop – sending three singles into the top ten on Billboard and two to the number one spot on radio.
Later this spring, Selena will launch a world tour in support of ‘Revival’; an event that will keep her on the road for most of the year. Just because Selena will be focused on performing in front of millions of fans across the world for months doesn’t mean she isn’t thinking about what’s next.
During a chat with the BBC while she was busy promoting her new single ‘Hands To Myself’ in the U.K., Selena revealed that she’s eager to start putting the work into her next album while she’s on the road this spring and summer.
When asked about how quickly she is beginning to work on the record, Selena explained that she’s really found a home with the team behind ‘Revival’ and is excited to bring her new family together for this next project.
I want to fly a few of my writers out and just be on the tour bus with them, writing and creating. It’s funny – I only wrote six songs for Revival but I find it hard to listen to [other people’s] demos now. Now that I’ve been able to tap into that creativity, I’m kind of addicted to it.
It’s no secret that ‘Revival’ created Selena her own lane in pop and forced her to step outside of her comfort zone in order to take control of her music career. It sounds like she’s more inspired than ever after the record and that she’s looking to push herself even further in order to stay at the top of her game.
Could she release something before the year is up? It’s possible – but there’s still a lot of life left in ‘Revival’. When do you want to see Selena release some new music?
