Rihanna Releases A Pop Mix For ‘Needed Me’
Last week, it was confirmed that the second official single from Rihanna’s ‘ANTI” would be the DJ Mustard produced ‘Needed Me’. A very wise choice for the singer to pick a song that completely abandons any shred of poppiness that she may have left – or so we thought.
Turns out, Rihanna felt like ‘Needed Me’ needs a bit more production value in order to be play on pop radio. While we strongly disagree (the original is flawless and could hold its own), we’re happy to hear that the changes are minimal. The only two obvious changes at the dub continuing throughout the pre-chorus and explosion of synths at the top of the chorus.
Apparently, Rihanna is holding off on ‘Needed Me’ just a little longer. It was slated to go to radio this week; but with ‘Work’ spending a fifth week at #1 and showing no signs of peaking yet, we’ll just have to wait a little longer for ‘Needed Me’ to become Rihanna’s 15th #1 single.
