dumblonde To Take “A Completely Different Direction” on Their Sophomore Album
While on the road late last year, Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex announced that dumblonde’s sophomore album would arrive during the first half of 2016. As we quickly approach the middle mark of the year, everything seems to be falling into place for the girls. We’ve seen studio updates on Instagram and tweets here and there about the progress being made on db2.
If Aubrey and Shannon taught us anything about the dumblonde brand is that you have to expect the unexpected. Their debut album introduced an alternative dance sound to the world and it sounds like the girls are working even harder to give fans something entirely new this time around.
Aubrey had this to say about dumblonde’s forthcoming sophomore album earlier this week to The New Music Buzz:
We’re in the studio finishing it up. We’re going to take a completely different direction with this album. It’s going to be unexpected and we’re playing with a new sound that isn’t familiar to us. So it’s been taking a bit of time to get it exactly how we want it. We’re being pushed creatively – but we’re back in the studio with the same team we made our first album with.
We’re not even going to guess what Aubs and Shan have been creating. That would be foolish for us to do. All we know is that these two never fail to deliver and whatever they’re about to release is going to worthwhile for fans. But if you have to guess, what sound do you think these two will be toying with during their second go around?
