Tinashe Postpones The International Leg Of The Joyride World Tour
Sad news for all international Tinashe fans. The ‘Player’ singer has just taken to her official Facebook page to announce that the planned international leg of the Joyride World Tour that was slated to kick off at the end of April has officially been postponed.
Now, with every cloud comes a silver lining. It looks like RCA is finally ready to push Tinashe as ‘All My Friends’ begins to build on U.S. radio. Instead of heading to Europe once the North American leg commences on April 10th, Tinashe will head into the studio until the end of May to put the next round of finishing touches on ‘Joyride’.
It is with a heavy heart that I come with the news that due to unexpected recording commitments I need to postpone my upcoming international tour. Originally, I had planned this tour in support of Joyride, and as you know, the album has yet to be released.
My two biggest loves are music and my fans, and it is never my intention to disappoint anyone. I know there has been some confusion in regards to my album’s release date. Trust me, I am as eager to get it out to you as you are to hear it. I will be wrapping up the finishing touches on Joyride by the end of May, and will be back on the road shortly thereafter to see all of you. If you know anything about me, you know this was the last thing I would ever want to do.
I know there will be a lot of questions about this. I am going to do a live Q&A on my Facebook tomorrow to answer them all. Stay tuned for more info on that.
Thank you for your love, support and patience always. It means the world to me.
It’s a bit frustrating the way that Tinashe is being handled by her label. Her tour has earned positive review after positive review and she’s been giving it her all each and every night. You can almost hear the exhaustion in her words as you read them. To be perfectly honest, we don’t blame her – especially when you take into account this is about the third or fourth time she’s gone into the studio to “finish the record”. There’s virtually no reason why she shouldn’t be a priority for her label and shouldn’t be given every opportunity to actually have her break out moment.
At least things seem relatively on track for ‘Joyride’. By the looks of it, it seems like the record could be released sometime in the summer? Things are still developing and we’re sure that Tinashe will answer numerous questions about the album tomorrow during her Facebook chat.
