Taylor Swifts Says A New Record Could Be “An Option” In 2016
This how the usual Taylor Swift era goes: one begins abruptly, lasts about two years, end on a bigger higher than the last, and a new one comes in once the dust settles months later. However, things may be different post-‘1989’…or so Taylor might lead you to believe.
For a while now, Taylor has been laying low. Ever since her 1989 World Tour concluded, she’s popped up at several award shows, but mostly kept to herself and enjoyed a much needed break. After all, working for two years straight during her most successful album cycle to date has to take its toll. So it’s not unusual for Taylor to be spot on multiple vacations with her DJ boyfriend, Calvin Harris.
There’s been talk for a while that Taylor might spring a new album on us before the year is up (a one-off show in October has many believing this rumor – us not so much), but there’s something that she said in her interview with VOGUE that set off an alarm in our head.
I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened … I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something. I would really like to take a little time to learn things. I have lots of short-term goals.
The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too.
So it’s not a definite – but it’s an option. As in she’s very aware that she could find herself in the studio a month from now and find herself more inspired than ever.
Only time will tell and there’s a lot of time left in 2016. Prepare yourselves accordingly…
