Kesha Joins Zedd To Perform ‘True Colors’ At Coachella
Each April, thousands flock to the California desert of Coachella – a music festival more about who’s there and who’s wearing what than the actual music that’s showcased at the event. Luckily, that changed last night for a brief five minutes.
Since Coachella weekend began, there was rumors that Kesha would join Zedd on stage for a surprise public performance, her first since all of her legal turmoil with Dr. Luke. It wasn’t unlikely that the two would join forces – the twosome have been rumored to have hit the studio in the past and Zedd showed his support for Kesha earlier this year. Thankfully, all the talk about Kesha jumping on stage with Zedd was true. Last night, dressed in all black, Kesha descended into the desert to perform the emotional title track from Zedd’s latest album, ‘True Colors’.
Wow. So beyond powerful and we couldn’t be more proud of her. Kesha hasn’t sounded this good in a long time, perhaps ever. When she really can focus on that special quality and tone in her voice, she can do no wrong. Naturally, she was held back from doing that with Luke, but it was a perfect fit for Zedd’s ominous song. God and those lyrics – chill inducing. Talk about life imitating art.
Think about it. If Kesha truly gets her freedom and runs with a sound like this – something a little bewitching, slightly pop, with a toss in of electro-rock? She would be unstoppable.
Here’s to hoping for more public performances from Kesha really soon…
