Britney Spears To Perform And Receive Millennium Award At The Billboard Music Awards

Finally – some confirmation to put an end to all the speculation. With her new single, ‘Make Me (Oooh)’, on deck for release later this month, it was highly rumored that Britney Spears would debut her new single at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

Today, Team Britney and Team Billboard confirm the news via USA Today. No only will Britney be performing (a medley of her hits!!), she’ll also be award the Billboard Millennium Award that evening and acknowledged for her contributions to music and her legacy.

In a press release, The Millenium Award is “meant to acknowledge outstanding career achievements and influence in the music industry, Billboard Millennium Awards were previously handed out to Beyoncé (in 2011) and Whitney Houston (in 2012).” It’s safe to say she’s in very good company…

No word on exactly what hits she’ll choose to perform, but home girl has such an extensive list of top tens and five #1 hits that you can almost map out the songs she’ll handpick that evening. Will it be another pre-taped performed? Will she work on an entirely fresh number that stands alone from Piece Of Me? Will ‘Make Me (Ooh)’ make the cut? Robin Leach has confirmed that Britney will be 100% live at the BBMAs and will premiere ‘Make Me (Ooh)’ in her medley!
