Britney Spears, Fifth Harmony, Kesha, Rihanna, & More Perform At The 2016 Billboard Music Awards
At this year’s Billboard Music Awards, it wasn’t a question of who was performing throughout the night. It was more like who wasn’t performing during the award show (Jennifer Lopez, for one). Everybody who’s anybody in the world of pop music took the stage during the evening – all beginning with the princess of pop and culminating with the queen of pop.
Kicking things off with a medley of her biggest hits and underrated album cuts, Britney Spears gave her first live performance on an award show in nearly a decade. To be honest, it started out shaky. It was the same old Britney and we questioned if live TV was no longer an option for her. Luckily, B girl began to feel herself as she writhed around on her guitar and the rest went off without a hitch!
Right behind her, Fifth Harmony gave one of the best performances on the night when it came to a true pop performance and Kesha and Rihanna held things down with some soul and brought some real emotion to the BBMAs stage. Speaking of emotion, no other moment from the night brought a tear to everyone’s eyes quite like Celine Dion’s performance of ‘The Show Must Go On’ – a tribute to her late husband and the future that lies before her.
And then there were some lows. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani should have just stayed at home, Ariana Grande didn’t quite capture the energy of her new single ‘Into You’ and Madonna…well she’s sounded better.
With over a dozen of pop’s top acts at this year’s show to choose from, what performance have you been re-watching over and over again?
