Kesha Submits A New Album To Kemosabe Records
Could Kesha’s dark age be behind her once and for all? From the latest news surrounding her legal situation with Dr. Luke, it looks like the ‘Take It Off’ singer might be taking the next step into getting her career back.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Kesha has been locked in a series of litigations against Dr. Luke since October 2014. The bulk of her case against Luke surrounds an alleged rape and years of psychological abuse from the producer and has resulted in Kesha asking for freedom against her alleged abuser.
Things really took a turn this year as the cards seemed stacked against Kesha. Her plea for an injunction were denied and it seemed like Kesha would be stuck in limbo until the case was settled next year.
Now, it looks like things may be looking up for the singer. After the release of a one-off single with Zedd and a few high profile appearances including the Billboard Music Awards, new music from Kesha may be in the not to distant future.
In an official statement from Kesha’s lawyer, it was revealed that Kesha has dropped her suit against Luke in California (she’s still proceeding with her case in New York) and that she’s gunning to release a new single and album as soon as possible.
Kesha has dismissed her California action without prejudice while she pursues her appeal and other legal claims in the New York courts. Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label. We have conveyed to Sony and the label Kesha’s strong desire to release her next album and single as soon as possible.
Rolling Stone is reporting that Kesha has self-funded the recording sessions that went into this new material. If all goes according to plan, Kesha should be able to release music before the year is up. After all, Sony did claim in court that Dr. Luke will allow music producer by other parties to be submitted to the label for release. Hopefully, he’ll keep to his word given the media attention surrounding the two over the past year.
Kesha is due to kick off the Kesha And The Creepies tour later this month and is rumored to premiere new material on the trek. It remains to be seen if any music performed on the road will make her record, what sound her new music will showcase, or if it’ll be released at all.
Do you think Dr. Luke will release a new Kesha album?
