REPORT: ‘Perfect Illusion’ Is A Return To Form For Lady Gaga

Last week, Lady Gaga blew up the Internet when she announced that her highly anticipated fifth album would kick off this September with the brand new single ‘Perfect Illusion’.

The question on everyone’s mind is “what will Gaga sound like this time around?” After the mess that was ‘ARTPOP’ and her return to prominence that began with ‘Cheek To Cheek’, it’s anyone’s guess as to the sound she’ll push forward this fall.

With Mark Ronson helming the record and input from Tame Impala, RedOne, and Nile Rodgers, many are anticipating a disco sound a la Gaga’s ‘I Want Your Love’ cover for the Tom Ford Spring 2016 campaign.

While it remains to be seen if Gaga will be going disco on ‘Perfect Illusion’, there’s one thing we know for sure – she’ll be returning to the dance floor once again for a cut that sounds like it’ll stand up next to ‘Just Dance’.. at least according to iHeartRadio.

In collaboration with super-producer Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, “Perfect Illusion” finds a sweet space in Mother Monster’s catalogue alongside some of her best dance floor anthems. It’s a cut that touches the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a relationship gone wrong, thus, the perfect illusion.

During a secret listening party with fans at iHeart HQ in NYC, Gaga described the new single as “modern ecstasy . . . .We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it…I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.

Everyone loves a good dance floor anthem and everyone loves a great love song. From the looks of it, Lady Gaga’s triumphant return to the pop charts will be just that. Everyone is watching and waiting for her to deliver. With only a couple weeks the song’s debut, it’s only a matter of time before a few more secrets about ‘Perfect Illusion’ are revealed.
