Fergie To Finally Release ‘Double Dutchess’ At The Top Of 2017
Every few months or so, it seems like Fergie’s album is “about to come out”…and then nothing. This time, it seems like it might just happen.
Her current singles, ‘Life Goes On’, isn’t even on life support, but that isn’t stopping The Dutchess from dropping ‘Double Dutchess’ at the top of the year.
During a recent Facebook Live event, Fergie was asked when her new album would drop and shared with fans that its release date is in the not too distant future.
I am so ready for this album to come out. You have no idea. I’ve turned it in, it’s done, and it’s coming out the beginning of the year.
I just really cared about it. I hope it’ll be worth it. A lot of it is really autobiographical and – you know – I had four albums with The Peas, but that’s really not the time and place to air out some of my own personal feelings and thoughts and emotions. So, my second album is my place for me to do so.
So there’s a lot of emotion – blood, sweat, and tears into this album. There’s personal stuff, pop stuff, hip-hop stuff, throwback stuff…some reggae, ballads, fun, silly.
Will the inevitable underperformance of ‘Life Goes On’ set things back? It’s quite possible. It hasn’t even made a blip on anyone’s radar. If we were her, we’d call it a promo track and launch a new single at the top of the New Year, make sure it’s a banger, promote the hell of it, and drop the record in February.
Are you ready for Fergie’s long awaited second album?
